by Phil Brown,  WORDS IN STONE

I carve small memorials in limestone (and sometimes Slate or Blue Lias).

The memorials I carve are for the equivalent of cremation burial spaces and non-consecrated open spaces.  Please view this page to see examples of my memorial carving.

I take care to offer an unrushed, sympathetic approach to the carving of a memorial, and I seek to work WITH YOU to create a bespoke piece for your chosen setting, that will carry special meaning over time.

Even though I don’t carve headstones I can, if required, renovate existing ones by re-tooling and/or re-painting them (which I would work on in-situ).

Most of the pieces shown are memorials for individuals, but I do also carve memorials for pets.
Should you require a hand-carved memorial and would like me to create one for you
